Steven Universe Karaoke at SDCC
Scope: Co-concepted and creative directed the Steven Universe SDCC activation with the Cartoon Network team. Led concept development and visual direction across the entire experience, including character balloons, scenic builds, LED screen graphics, background animations, environmental signage, and press assets supporting the launch of Steven Universe: The Movie.
To celebrate Steven Universe: The Movie, we transformed the booth into a live Beach City Stage — part performance venue, part fan playground. The experience centered on Steven Universe karaoke, inviting fans to step on stage and sing along to songs from the series in front of a Comic-Con crowd. Oversized character sculptures, bold scenic elements, and an LED performance backdrop turned the booth into a spectacle that pulled people in from across the floor, while branded takeaways and interactive moments extended the experience beyond the stage. The result was a high-energy, participatory activation that felt true to the spirit of the show and its fandom.
Steven Universe: The Movie — Interactive Instagram Filters
To extend the launch of Steven Universe: The Movie into social platforms, we developed a series of custom Instagram AR filters inspired by the film’s visual language and campaign graphics. Fans could transform themselves into characters or interact with themed visual effects designed around the movie’s aesthetic.
The filters allowed audiences to participate in the campaign directly, turning social sharing into a playful extension of the film’s world while organically amplifying awareness through user-generated content.
